Job Description

The A220 commercial aircraft program is looking for a Software Certification and Tool Qualification Specialist to join the Systems Center of Excellence team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada), where you will work with a multifunctional team including Chief Engineering, Program, Methods, Production, Customer Service, Quality, etc.
You will be part of the Electrical Systems Center of Excellence team responsible for:
Advanced system design and technical expertise;
Design assurance and problem solving;
Supplier management, technical integration, and cross-functional collaboration.
Your role within the Electrical Systems Center of Excellence will be to lead and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of specialized tools used to generate Field Loadable Software (FLS). This role involves acting as the primary technical liaison with the external supplier to oversee the partitioning of key application software and the development of configuration tools. You will be responsible for defining the operational processes for this new tool, ensuring that supplier deliverables meet airworthiness and certification standards through proven project and program management skills, and ensuring adherence to deadlines, budget, and quality in a complex and multidisciplinary environment.
Your challenges:
Provide technical leadership and guidance during the integration, development, qualification, and certification of a Field Loadable Software (FLS) generation tool;
Drive the tool qualification and certification process in accordance with RTCA DO-330 and DO-178C standards;
Produce and review all necessary certification documents, including tool qualification/certification plans and software accomplishment summaries;
Be the main technical contact with the supplier during the development of the FLS generation tool;
Oversee the architectural transition of the application software by the system supplier, allowing the extraction of a configurable partition managed by the new FLS generation tool;
Rigorous monitoring of supplier progress, ensuring that all technical deliverables comply with the project plan and requirements;
Lead design reviews as a technical reviewer with the system supplier and certification authorities to ensure design objectives are met;
Collaborate closely with internal departments such as Production, Customer Support, Program Office, Purchasing, and Product Planning, to ensure the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of design solutions, as well as their compliance with downstream requirements;
Define and document end-to-end processes for using the new FLS generation tools;
Define and implement a comprehensive verification and validation plan to ensure the compliance of tool results;
Develop automated regression test suites to validate tool performance.
Requirements
Your profile:
You hold a university degree in electrical, software, aerospace engineering or equivalent;
You have at least eight (8) years of relevant experience in the development, verification, testing, and certification of critical aircraft system software;
You have expertise in project management, supplier management, and the ability to lead complex projects;
You have a positive, proactive, and committed attitude;
You have expertise in DO-178 and DO-330 processes;
You have experience with the FAR 25/525 certification process and with the ARP4754 standard;
You have experience with civil aeronautical and airworthiness authorities;
You are proficient in using Google Suite software tools to produce presentations and reports;
You have the ability to work well in a multifunctional team environment;
You have strong communication skills (written and spoken) in French and English.
