About the role

Integrated Gateway and Navigation System Test Specialist

The successful candidate will contribute to our Rivers and Rivers Class Destroyer (DCFR) project as a member of our vector product integration, testing and evaluation team:

  • Development, review and delivery of land-based tests and trials (Land Test Site/Land Test Facility) of the Integrated Bridge and Navigation System (IBNS)
  • Development, review and delivery of shipboard IBNS tests and trials
  • Creation of the Integrated Test, Evaluation and Acceptance Plan, Verification Referral Matrix, Test Plans and Test Procedures
  • Support the planning and execution of the First Article Acceptance Tests of the IBNS
  • Act as liaison between the Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. (Lockheed Martin) integration, testing and evaluation team and supplier/partner organizations to maintain program priorities
  • Support problem identification and resolution to minimize test schedule risks
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to effectively manage and coordinate IBNS build dates and build tests.

What you bring to the position

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma from an accredited institution in an engineering discipline and two years of experience, or a master's degree in an engineering discipline
  • Experience in naval or defense navigation systems
  • Experience working within a multi-skilled team
  • Ability to solve difficult problems within a team
  • Demonstrate a high degree of initiative or autonomy
  • Be able to obtain a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) “Secret” level security clearance.

Additional skills desired for the position

  • Direct IBNS experience
  • Test writing experience
  • Experience with naval combat systems
  • Experience with IBM Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS)
  • Experience with Agile Scrum methodology
  • Good knowledge of hardware and software development and testing
  • Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of tools
  • Good knowledge of Linux
  • Knowledge of JIRA and Windchill is an asset
  • Valid NATO Secret level security clearance.
