The A220 commercial aircraft programme is looking for a DevOps and Simulation Tool Support Specialist for Flight Control development to join the Aircraft Controls department based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada), where you will work in collaboration with the European Flight Control Systems Development teams based in France and Germany.

You will be part of the Flight Control Systems Development team responsible for the development and design of the primary and secondary flight control systems for the A220 programme.

The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively.

As a DevOps and Simulation Tool Support Specialist, your mission will be to actively contribute to the development and integration of the A220 FBW flight system. This includes DevOps tool support as well as the development and integration of a flight control simulation platform. This work is carried out in close collaboration with our European partners within the Airbus group, allowing us to capitalize on the experience gained on other company platforms.

Your challenges:

  • Understand and support engineers in the flight control domain by providing quick and effective solutions. The main stakeholders will be stability and control specialists, control law designers, flight control system designers (including primary system, hydraulic system, actuators, high lift system).
  • Lead the development and integration of a simulation platform for the development and V&V of A220 flight control software.
  • Support users in the aircraft control domain during the introduction of new tools.
  • Gather development needs for the A220 aircraft flight control domain.
  • Coordinate with the Airbus Toulouse modeling and simulation Competence Center (CoC) regarding tool development needs for the A220 aircraft flight control domain.
  • Develop and update simulation models as part of a project.
  • Propose or adapt MBSE processes for development in the context of the A220 aircraft.
  • Take into account the continuous development approach.
  • Ensure harmonized implementation and use of methods and tools within the aircraft's flight control domain.
  • Introduce new methods and tools to users in the aircraft's flight control domain.
  • Monitor technological developments in IT.
  • Collaborate with internal (Airbus) and external (contractors) stakeholders.

Your profile:

As an ideal candidate,

  • You are proactive and have an interest in the aerospace industry and systems integration.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science (or equivalent) from a recognized university and you have more than 5 years of experience.
  • Good knowledge of specification, design, integration, test and certification of flight control systems and/or its components.
  • Experience with the A220 primary or secondary flight control system or equivalent (an asset).
  • Good organizational and planning skills.
  • Experience in simulation, with Matlab and Simulink software.
  • Good knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes (an asset).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in French and English.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, but also individually, and you are able to manage priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to obtain clearance to access items subject to Export Control Clearance.

This position may involve business travel (to Europe and the United States).
