Do you have stress analysis experience on metallic and composites structures, have you worked in demonstrating or maintaining airworthiness of aerospace structures and would you like to progress and develop new skills? Then this job is for you!

The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for a Stress Analysis Specialist - Metallic and Composites Structures to join our In Service Engineering - Structures team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada), where you will be answering complex challenges in a multifunctional context, using all possible options that are matching customer needs.

You will be part of the Stress team responsible for analyzing damage reports and approving repair solutions from a structural strength standpoint in conformance with pertinent certification requirements for all structural components and/or assemblies of the A220 fleet in service.

Your role as Stress Analysis Specialist - Metallic and Composites Structures will be to prepare, check or approve stress analyses for repair solution development on multiple composites or metallic structures on the entire A220 fleet in service all over the world.

Your challenges:

  • Interact with a multidisciplinary team in the development of structural repair solutions;

  • Perform static strength and durability analyses for specific or generic structural metallic and composite repairs in support to the A220 fleet;

  • Support the completion of various A220 aircraft structural manuals such as Aircraft Structural Repair Publication (ASRP) and Aircraft Maintenance Publication (AMP);

  • Prepare or review stress analysis reports covering repairs or allowable damage limits to metallic structures and composites;

  • Present generic repair analyses to Transport Canada engineering team for concurrence;

  • Ensuring the aircraft safety and airworthiness, reporting all unsafe conditions;

  • Coordinating proposed repair solution with other A220 actors and considering the implications of Airworthiness regulations, Materials and Processes, Aerodynamic effects and any other function as required;

  • Promoting and supporting continuous improvement and innovation initiatives of the Daily Repairs organization through selected projects, providing added value to the aircraft operator;

  • Delivering repair instructions in accordance with the relevant certification/airworthiness requirements and Airbus process and methods.

Your boarding pass:

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with a relevant experience of minimum eight (8) years in stress analysis in the aerospace industry;

  • Good knowledge of aircraft metallic and composite structure stress analysis (practical experience on A220 structures is an asset);

  • Experiences in certification of aircraft composite primary structures;

  • Knowledge in interrogating aircraft structure repair drawings (CATIA V5 is an asset);

  • Good understanding of applicable airworthiness regulations (experience with Transport Canada is an asset);

  • Knowledge of customer operations, product integrity/liability and maintenance operation is an asset;

  • Dynamic person with initiative, a strong sense of responsibility and customer oriented;

  • Organized, able to manage your time and prioritize tasks effectively, while working toward tight deadlines;

  • Negotiation level in French and English is needed.

This role may involve some travels for business (worldwide).

Travel Required: <5% Domestic and International.

Possible on-call duties during week-ends and/or holiday seasons.
