We are looking for an Analytics and Management Reporting Specialist to join our ranks in the Information Technology team.

Position Summary

MHIRJ is looking for a full-time Analytics and Management Reporting Specialist, an intelligent, curious individual passionate about the challenges of solving problems of various natures and complexities to improve people's lives. The role of Analytics and Management Reporting Specialist plays a vital role in harmonizing reporting across the company's various functions, establishing organization-wide reporting standards, and transforming complex data into strategic insights for executives. This information supports informed strategic decision-making. The incumbent will help evolve the organization beyond "lagging indicators" to predictive and advanced "leading indicators" aligned with key business objectives.

This highly visible role involves direct interaction with senior management, IT teams, and data platform teams. It is critical to ensuring that MHIRJ leaders have the right information at the right time to make informed, forward-looking decisions. Unlike traditional BI developer roles focused primarily on project delivery, the Analytics and Management Reporting Specialist position combines a strategic dimension and hands-on report development with ongoing operational responsibility, ensuring that reporting solutions remain accurate, reliable, and continuously supported in the production environment.

Your contribution as an Analytics and Management Reporting Specialist:

Enterprise reporting strategy and execution:

• Execute and evolve the enterprise reporting strategy using Databricks as the data foundation and Power BI as the primary visualization platform.
• Design and deliver standardized, reusable reporting assets to ensure consistency, accuracy, and scalability of reports across MHIRJ.
• Work closely with IT and data platform teams to ensure alignment between ingestion, modeling, and reporting layers.

Partnership with leaders and business units:

• Work directly with business leaders and corporate functions to understand strategic objectives and translate them into clear dashboards and reports ready to support decision-making.
• Develop executive-level reports highlighting trends, risks, opportunities, and leading indicators rather than being limited to historical view, while strengthening operational reporting to support daily activities and increase business value.
• Act as a trusted advisor by helping leaders interpret information and understand its impact on company results.

Reporting standards and governance:

• Define and enforce enterprise-wide reporting standards (metric definitions, visualization best practices, refresh frequency, and performance expectations).
• Promote a single source of truth through clear KPI definitions and governed datasets.
• Foster data literacy by guiding stakeholders on the proper interpretation and use of reports.

Advanced analytics and strategic insight generation:

• Evolve reporting beyond descriptive analytics toward diagnostic and predictive analyses.
• Identify trends, anomalies, and early warning signals enabling proactive decision-making.
• Continuously evolve metrics so they remain aligned with constantly changing business priorities.

Continuous improvement:

• Gather stakeholder feedback to improve usability, performance, and relevance of reports.
• Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, or retire low-value reports.
• Contribute to the evolution of MHIRJ's analytics and data maturity roadmap.

Operations, lifecycle, and report support:

• Design and develop corporate reports and datasets, then manage their complete lifecycle, including planning, refreshing, validation, and dissemination.
• Monitor report execution, proactively identify failures, and ensure their rapid resolution to meet Service Level Agreement (SLA) commitments.
• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 (L2/L3) support for reporting incidents, notably by resolving data, performance, and access issues.
• Perform root cause analysis, document fixes, and implement preventative measures to improve solution stability.
• Maintain reporting assets through rigorous version control, comprehensive documentation, and a controlled deployment process.

Here is what is needed to succeed:

• Over 7 years of experience in roles related to enterprise reporting, business intelligence (BI), or analytics.
• Solid hands-on expertise with Power BI (data modeling, DAX, performance optimization, and dashboard design).
• Experience working with modern data platforms, ideally Databricks.
• Strong business acumen demonstrated by the ability to translate reporting requirements into relevant metrics generating clear, actionable insights for decision-making.
• Experience producing executive-level reports.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to influence without direct hierarchical authority.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Experience in complex, matrixed, or regulated enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of product- or platform-driven analytical operating models.
• Familiarity with data governance, metric standardization, and reporting best practices.
• Experience promoting and adopting standardized reporting solutions across multiple business units.

Technical competencies (functional or practical knowledge considered an asset)

• Knowledge of the Azure analytical ecosystem (Power BI, enterprise gateways, Microsoft Fabric) as well as corporate BI practices.
• Knowledge of Star Schema modeling: fact and dimension tables, RLS (Row-Level Security), CLS (Column-Level Security), OLS (Object-Level Security), and Slowly Changing Dimensions.
• Knowledge of Lakehouse platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake.
• Mastery of tools such as Azure DevOps, Microsoft Visio, Planner/Project, and SharePoint.
• Experience in using and integrating APIs.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines for deploying applications, data, or AI solutions.
• Demonstrated experience as a BI specialist (ETL developer).
• Solid experience with ETL/ELT tools such as Azure Data Factory (ADF) or their equivalents.
• Experience with data warehouses, data lakes, and business intelligence environments.
• Excellent command of SQL for writing and optimizing queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
• Advanced SQL development and optimization skills.
• Experience with Microsoft technologies such as SQL Server, Azure SQL, SSIS, and Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Knowledge of ETL processes applied to star schemas, analytical cubes, and data lake concepts.
• Understanding of Enterprise Gateways.
• Familiarity with cloud data services such as Azure Data Lake and Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Experience with support ticketing platforms such as ServiceNow.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, or .NET (an asset).
• Mastery of the Microsoft 365 suite.
• English is required for the position as the selected person will regularly need to communicate with colleagues, clients, or partners located outside Quebec.
