As a member of our Automation team, you will contribute to the development of automation technologies, programming, implementation, and validation of intelligent automation solutions. If you are a passionate professional with in-depth knowledge of the discipline, we invite you to apply.

This position is full-time, Monday to Friday, with flexible hours in Longueuil, and is exclusively on-site.

What will your day-to-day look like?

  • Design, integrate, and maintain systems dedicated to the automation of manufacturing processes;
  • Program and optimize PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) as well as human-machine interfaces (HMI) for operators and managers;
  • Manage end-to-end automation projects, including overseeing system integrators;
  • Process production data using databases and data management tools;
  • Integrate and configure machine signals using various communication protocols (Profinet, OPC, Modbus);
  • Deploy Industry 4.0 technologies;
  • Collaborate with operations and IT teams to identify needs and propose tailored solutions;
  • Draft technical documentation and train personnel on new systems and tools.

What do you need to be successful?

  • Degree in engineering (electrical, automated production, etc.) or a related field;
  • Significant experience in PLC programming for the manufacturing sector with 5 years of experience;
  • Experience with industrial software and hardware (Siemens: WinCC TIA Portal, Ignition, Fanuc);
  • Proficiency in programming languages (C#, Java, Python);
  • Familiarity with SCADA interfacing and enterprise systems (PLM, MES, APS, etc.);
  • In-depth knowledge of communication protocols and automation systems;
  • Skills in database management and data analysis;
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities;
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills;
  • Project management skills with rigor and autonomy to handle complex projects;
  • Knowledge of networking and industrial infrastructure (OT).

Although this position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a working knowledge of English to read and understand specialized instructions, plans, drawings and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and sometimes communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
