Role:

The Compliance Specialist – EGSE and Test Equipment is responsible for ensuring regulatory, normative, and internal compliance of Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) and test equipment used in the development, validation, and production of flight products.

The incumbent works closely with engineering, quality, manufacturing, health and safety teams, and suppliers to ensure equipment meets applicable requirements throughout its lifecycle.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain applicability compliance requirements for EGSE and test equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and customer requirements (CSA, UL, IEC, ISO, CE, etc.).
  • Perform compliance analyses for new equipment.
  • Participate in design to integrate regulatory requirements from the early development phases.
  • Develop, maintain, and approve compliance-related technical documentation:
    • safety validation grid
    • risk analyses;
    • operating procedures;
    • compliance reports.
  • Support design reviews and safety reviews.
  • Coordinate equipment certification and validation testing.
  • Work with external laboratories and certification bodies when required.
  • Monitor non-conformances, deviations, and corrective actions.
  • Participate in internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
  • Perform regulatory monitoring to anticipate normative changes that could affect equipment and update internal documentation.
  • Advise development teams on best practices regarding electrical, mechanical, and functional safety.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of compliance processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a role related to compliance, certification, or test/industrial equipment development.
  • Experience with risk analyses (FMEA, CNESST).
  • Knowledge of electrical and machinery safety standards.
  • Experience with equipment validation processes.
  • Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written. (Contact with clients outside Quebec).

Comments/Special Considerations:

Successful candidates must obtain and hold a reliability status security clearance, and successfully pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
