Compliance Specialist - EGSE and Test Equipment

Role:

The Compliance Specialist – EGSE and Test Equipment is responsible for ensuring regulatory, normative, and internal compliance of Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) and test equipment used in the development, validation, and production of flight products.

The incumbent works closely with engineering, quality, manufacturing, health and safety teams, and suppliers to ensure that equipment meets applicable requirements throughout its lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities

- Define and maintain compliance requirements applicable to EGSE and test equipment.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and customer requirements (CSA, UL, IEC, ISO, CE, etc.).
- Perform compliance analyses on new equipment.
- Participate in design to integrate regulatory requirements from the earliest development phases.
- Develop, maintain, and approve compliance-related technical documentation:
- safety validation grid
- risk analyses;
- operating procedures;
- compliance reports.
- Support design reviews and safety reviews.
- Coordinate equipment certification and validation testing.
- Work with external laboratories and certification bodies when required.
- Monitor non-conformances, deviations, and corrective actions.
- Participate in internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
- Conduct regulatory monitoring to anticipate regulatory changes that may affect equipment and update internal documentation.
- Advise development teams on best practices in electrical, mechanical, and functional safety.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of compliance processes.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a role related to compliance, certification, or the development of test or industrial equipment.
- Experience with risk analyses (FMEA, CNESST)
- Knowledge of electrical and machinery safety standards.
- Experience with equipment validation processes.
- Proficiency in French and English, both oral and written. (Contact with clients outside Quebec).

Selected candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and successfully pass the security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
