Job Description
We are actively working on the feasibility study for the new development of the A220, an exciting phase for the A220 program. In this context, we are looking for the ideal leader to join this challenging project.
You have experience in stress engineering, have worked in aircraft structures and want to grow and develop new skills? This position is for you.
The A220 commercial aircraft program is seeking a stress engineering professional to join our Stress Analysis team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada). You will be part of a specialized group within the technical team and will support the A220 aircraft programs.
In this role you will perform static and fatigue analyses and finite element modeling of the airframe structure.
Responsibilities
- Analyze composite and hybrid structures for static strength in accordance with validated methods.
- Ensure compliance with airworthiness regulations, applicable design principles, processes and methods, and manufacturing capability guidelines.
- Define, interpret and validate tests.
- Ensure interface and communication with relevant stakeholders.
- Provide relevant information to the Design Office for the development of manufacturing plans and support other functions (production, customer support...) as needed.
- Provide analytical calculations concerning repair and acceptance of damaged structures.
- Monitor, guide and support subcontractors performing structural analysis work.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering.
- At least five (5) years of experience with analysis techniques for composite and metallic structural stress.
- Experience with A220 structures is an asset.
- Knowledge of software such as NASTRAN, PATRAN, CATIA V5 and MS Office is mandatory.
- Knowledge of Google Suite is an asset.
- Previous experience working on an aircraft development or in-service support program, including certification, would be an asset.
- Experience as a delegate within an approval organization (DAO) would be an asset.
- Strong sense of responsibility, integrity and a team player attitude.
- Good communication and computer skills are essential.
