Job Description

We are actively working on the feasibility study for the new A220 development, an exciting step for the A220 program. In this context, we are looking for the ideal leader to embark on this stimulating project.

Do you have experience in stress engineering, have you worked in the field of aircraft structures and do you want to evolve and develop new skills? This position is for you!

The A220 commercial aircraft program is looking for a stress engineering professional to join our Stress Analysis team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada), where you will be part of a specialized group within the technical team and provide support for A220 aircraft programs.

Your role as a stress analysis engineering professional will be to perform static, fatigue analysis and finite element modeling of the airframe structure.

Your challenges:

  • Analyze composite and hybrid structures in terms of static strength in accordance with validated methods.
  • Ensure compliance with airworthiness regulations, applicable design principles, processes and methods and manufacturing capability guiding principles.
  • Define, interpret and validate tests.
  • Interface and communicate with relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide relevant information to the Design Office for the development of manufacturing plans and support other functions (production, customer support, etc.) as needed.
  • Provide calculation analysis concerning the repair and acceptance of damaged structures.
  • Monitor, guide and support subcontracting companies providing structural analysis work.

Requirements

Your profile:

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering.
  • You have at least five (5) years of experience with composite and metallic structure stress analysis techniques.
  • Experience on A220 structures is an asset.
  • Knowledge of software such as NASTRAN, PATRAN, CATIA V5 and MS Office is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of Google Suite is an asset.
  • Previous experience working on an aircraft development or in-service support program, including certification, would be an asset.
  • Experience as a delegate within an approval organization (DAO) would be an asset.
  • You have a strong sense of responsibility, integrity and are a team player.
  • Good communication and computer skills are essential.
