The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for a Flight Control Systems Development Engineering Specialist (f/m) to join our Aircraft Control team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada), where you will work in collaboration with the European Flight Control development teams based in France and Germany.
You will be part of the Flight Control development team responsible for / developing the A220 Primary and Secondary Flight Control System.
The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively.
Your role as Flight Control Systems Development Engineering Specialist will be to contribute to the detailed design of the Control and Monitoring aspects of the A220 secondary flight control system. This includes the requirements and design definition and the associated validation and verification activities. These activities are carried out in collaboration with our European counterparts within the Airbus Group to leverage lessons learned from other Airbus platforms.

Your challenges:
Participate in secondary flight control system development on the A220 aircraft,
Determine system-level and component-level requirements to fulfill aircraft technical requirements and objectives,
Perform validation of functions under your area of responsibility by design review, simulation & modeling via Matlab / Simulink and testing on various test rigs (desktop, system level rig, simulator, iron bird),
Conduct technical investigations, analyze and develop simple solutions,
Participate to maintain the interface defined and agreed with the other aircraft systems,
Participate in flight control system or component architecture definition ,
Perform trade studies to optimize the design solution,
Use the DevOps tool suite and master the development cycle for functions under your area of responsibility,
Evaluate and approve design from internal and external suppliers design through participation in the supplier's validation and verification processes,
Coordinate with various Integrated Product Teams/Suppliers, work with all departments for design, validation and verification, testing and certification, support to certification authorities.
Your boarding pass:
As our ideal candidate,
You are proactive and have an interest in the aerospace industry and systems integration.
You hold a University degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent in a recognized University.
You have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the aerospace industry.
You have a good knowledge of the specification, design, integration, test and certification of flight control systems and/or its components.
You have experience in at least one complete development cycle from preliminary design to entry into service (an asset).
You have experience in control systems development processes (based on ARP4754), including requirement decomposition from aircraft down to component level.
You are familiar with Part FAR 25 / CS 525 certification processes.
You have experience with the A220 flight control system, primary or secondary (considered as an asset).
You have good organizational & planning skills.
You have experience in simulation with Matlab software and Simulink.
You have knowledge of model based development engineering (MBSE) (considered as an asset).
You have experience of development process from preliminary design to entry into service (considered as an asset).
You have strong communication skills in French and English (written and spoken).
You are a team player, but you are also able to work individually. You can deliver quality even under a challenging environment.
This role may involve some travels for business (in Europe and USA).
