Why Join The Team?

You will report to the Manager of the Development Engineering Test Team. The Longueuil Development Engineering group is Pratt & Whitney Canada’s largest center for new engine development. With recent investments in modern assembly and test facilities, the group is responsible for the development of the next generations of turboshaft, turbofan, and turboprop engines, in addition to its existing portfolio, which spans multiple current and future product lines across the company.

This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday with flexible hours, based in Longueuil, and performed exclusively on-site.

What will your day-to-day look like?

  • Define and manage the proper implementation of test setups required to meet the intent of Requests for Test.
  • Develop Test Instructions defining the test plan in accordance with Requests for Test.
  • Program the Test Cell data acquisition system to meet test requirements.
  • Manage daily test activities and coordinate all personnel from service departments involved in test setup and execution.
  • Closely interact with test requesters to ensure that test data requirements and test setup are well understood throughout test execution.
  • Ensure the quality of engine instrumentation data recorded throughout the test. Ensure that no test delays or repeats occur due to missing instrumentation or inadequate readings.
  • Participate in and provide support for Test Cell and engine troubleshooting investigations when problems arise.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Occasional second-shift coverage may be required.

What do you need to be successful?

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering with good understanding of gas turbine operation.
  • 2 years of experience in the field of testing and/or gas turbines.
  • Very good skills for teamwork and problems solving. Desire to deeply understand gas turbines and Test Cell systems operation.
  • Capacity to work under pressure.
  • This position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
