The Position

Currently, Air Canada is looking for Customer Experience Specialists to join its team at the Edmonton airport. In this role, you will be in direct contact with our customers. You will play an important role in ensuring that all our flights are ready to depart safely and on time, by assisting customers at the airport at every moment of customer interaction during their journey.

What will your day look like?

As a Customer Experience Specialist at the Ottawa airport, you will be part of a dynamic and diverse team composed of greeters and Air Canada representatives. You will contribute to the smooth running of the customer experience:

  • Perform customer check-in, and prepare and issue boarding passes.
  • Assist customers during pre-boarding and provide information on flight schedules and connections.
  • Provide assistance to customers with special needs during their journey and ensure they get to their boarding gate and baggage claim on time and safely.
  • Stay on the move from one end of the airport to the other to get to the work areas to which you are assigned.

Qualifications

Required skills and experience

  • Availability to attend and successfully complete paid full-time training lasting five to seven weeks.
  • Availability to work rotating shifts over a 24-hour period (including weekends and holidays).
  • Ability to walk long distances or stand for long periods.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and provide wheelchair service to mobility-impaired customers.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines to ensure punctuality.
  • Ability to comply with Air Canada attendance and dress code standards.
  • Customer service experience and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong ability to solve problems and find solutions in accordance with Air Canada policies and guidelines.
  • Attention paid to safety and security.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada.
  • Obligation to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearance and additional authorizations. Please consult the Transport Canada website for more details.

Language requirements

The candidate must be fluent in English as well as one or more of the following languages: Japanese, Korean, Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish, Italian, Arabic, Hebrew, Portuguese, Hindi, or Punjabi.
