Job Description

Do you have experience in industrial equipment, have you worked in the industrial or aeronautical field and want to grow and develop new skills? This position is for you!

The tooling department plays an essential role in supporting the production of the Airbus A220 program at the Mirabel (Quebec) and Mobile (Alabama) sites. By joining the team, you will be responsible for designing, supplying, and maintaining the equipment necessary for the final assembly lines (FAL).

Your main role will be to ensure the progress of these projects by rigorously respecting deadlines, budgets, and costs. You will ensure that each solution delivered meets the highest standards of quality and safety, while respecting company standards, occupational health and safety criteria, and the requirements of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.

Your challenges:

  • Coordinate and lead a team of technical planners specializing in tooling estimation and purchasing;
  • Distribute the workload and ensure the technical skills development of your employees;
  • Develop ROMs (Rough Order of Magnitude) and delivery times for new projects to provide reliable budget estimates from the feasibility phases;
  • Ensure the management and responsibility of a strategic purchasing contract for tooling, ensuring compliance with commercial and technical clauses;
  • Lead supplier relationships by rigorously monitoring critical milestones of each project;
  • Guarantee compliance with delivery times and implement action plans in case of deviation;
  • Define, extract and analyze performance indicators (KPIs) related to the activity (cost compliance, punctuality of deliveries, tooling quality);
  • Write periodic activity reports for management;
  • Effectively manage the financial resources allocated to a project, to ensure that expenses remain within the planned budget, while achieving the defined objectives;
  • Collaborate closely with method, finance, procurement teams, suppliers, and external stakeholders;
  • Interpret, understand and respect technical plans and specifications;
  • Animate multi-departmental meetings and ensure that each collaborator is engaged;
  • Find solutions during the various challenges that will be encountered during the project;
  • Present project progress reports.

Requirements

Your profile:

  • You hold an engineering degree (bachelor's or equivalent) in mechanical, industrial or aeronautical engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • You have a specialization in product design, industrial project management or tooling (an asset).
  • You have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the industrial sector or in a similar business manager position.
  • You have experience with planning, monitoring, managing deadlines, costs and coordination between different teams.
  • You have experience in team coordination or cross-functional project management.
  • You are able to work with external suppliers, monitor the manufacturing and assembly of equipment.
  • You are able to work with multidisciplinary teams (engineers, technicians, managers, etc.) and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
  • You have strong organizational skills, rigor and particular attention to detail.
