The Role:

The Senior Learning & Development Specialist will own the end‑to‑end creation and delivery of MDA Space’s large‑scale, blended training programs—partnering with SMEs to design curricula, scripts, and storyboards; translating business needs into instructor‑led sessions, e‑learning, simulations, videos, job‑aids and AI‑enhanced just‑in‑time resources; managing external vendors; setting up learning environments; and overseeing onboarding. In addition, the role will handle L&D operational duties such as program scheduling, logistics, material distribution, LMS administration, and continuous improvement of the LMS through requirements gathering, testing and configuration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of large-scale formal training programs across all business functions. Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to map out complex curriculum paths, narrative scripts, and storyboards.
  • Translate business requirements and learning objectives to build engaging, high-quality, multi-approach blended learning solutions including instructor-led sessions, e-learning, interactive digital assets, simulations, video content, hands-on activities and job-aids.
  • Leverages latest technology (ie. generative AI tools or eLearning creator platforms such as Articulate) to provide just-in-time learning resources and experience to our MDA Space audience.
  • Build and analyzes dashboards utilizing feedback and data from learning programs and initiatives to measure and report on program effectiveness and make continuous enhancements.
  • Collaborates with business leaders, HRBPs, to develop learning plans and employee messaging to support the rollout of global learning programs.
  • Project manage outsourced learning solution providers to deliver on key company-wide training programs.
  • Sets up the learning environments required for training
  • Manage onboarding program, delivering training sessions and support to new employees

Learning & Development Processes (30%)

  • Manage activities for new and existing programs including scheduling, logistics, deployment of program materials, feedback gathering, and maintain the learning program library.
  • Respond to general inquiries regarding learning program offerings and processes.
  • Develop user training materials and resources to targeted Learning Management System (LMS) administrators and provide ongoing guidance as the subject-matter-expert.
  • Lead future enhancements of the Learning Management System (LMS) including defining requirements, testing, streamlining configuration and implementation along with researching and resolving issues that arise and recommending solutions or alternate methods to meet business requirements.

Special Considerations:

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the Reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and be able to obtain higher clearances.

The compensation range for this position is $100,000-125,000 annually. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
