In a context of complex and highly regulated international operations, Rheinmetall Canada is seeking a senior specialist in international transport and logistics.
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will play a strategic and operational role in ensuring compliance of import and export activities and in optimizing logistics processes.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate import and export activities.
- Manage shipments of controlled goods, including specialized and sensitive equipment.
- Evaluate logistics options and recommend the most effective and optimal solutions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations (CBSA, CBP, ITAR/EAR as relevant).
- Validate the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of shipping documentation.
- Assess customs requirements and ensure proper classification of goods.
- Act as point of contact during regulatory audits (e.g., CBSA).
- Identify and mitigate risks related to international transport and documentation.
- Develop, document, and standardize logistics procedures.
- Serve as mentor and technical reference for the team.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams (procurement, compliance, operations).
QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD POSSESS
The qualifications we are looking for:
- Degree or diploma in logistics, transportation, international trade, or supply chain.
- Good knowledge of regulations related to local and international transport.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in transport and international logistics.
- Proficiency with ERP tools, Excel, and SAP.
- Experience in a highly regulated environment (defence, manufacturing, aerospace) – a major asset.
- Advanced expertise in customs and regulatory compliance (Canada and the United States).
- Knowledge of controlled goods (ITAR/EAR).
- Leadership, autonomy, and strong influencing ability.
- Strong analytical skills and results orientation.
- *Fluent knowledge of English and French, spoken and written.
