Internship dates: January 5th to April 23rd, 2027.

Location: The position is based at our Longueuil location; internship from Monday to Friday, with flexible hours and exclusively on-site.

Why join our team?

The Turbine Aerodynamics & Cooling department is responsible for the aerodynamic design and performance of gas turbines. The main objectives of this project are to:

  • Understand the gap between predictive capability and thermal measurements
  • Explore and understand deficiencies with current methodology
  • Potential to use LES exploration
  • Support TARAS 3.0 validation
  • Re-organize Turbine Aerodynamics & Cooling SharePoint site

In the initial phase, the candidate will become familiar with CFD tools and modeling of turbines. The CFD results will then be validated against engine test data.

What will your day-to-day look like?

  • Understand and model the turbine section of the engine
  • Compare the CFD results with engine test data (Thermal paint tests)
  • Identify opportunities to improve modelling

What do you need to be successful?

  • Be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout your internship.
  • Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired if applicable.
  • Pursuing a graduate degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or minimum of 3 yrs experience at the bachelor’s level.
  • Problem solving
  • Teamwork
  • Time management

Assets:

  • Experience with a 3D mesh generation software (Fluent Meshing, ICEM-CFD)
  • Experience with a 3D flow solver (CFX, Fluent, STAR CCM+)

Although this position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a working knowledge of English to read and understand specialized instructions, plans, drawings and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and sometimes communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
