Internship - Winter 2027 - Turbine Blade Retention Dimensional Studies

Internship dates: January, 5th to April, 23rd 2027.

Location: The position is based at our Longueuil location; internship from Monday to Friday, with flexible hours and exclusively on-site.

What will your day-to-day look like?

• Evaluate finite element modeling (FEM) boundary conditions to understand the operating environment of turbine blade retention features
• Perform studies to understand trade-off between retention features and component sizing
• Document and secure work in accordance to internal procedures

Why join our team ?

You will be working in a team of highly skilled analysts/engineers that supports the analyses surrounding all aspects of turbine rotating components from initial design to manufacturing to field maintenance. You will be experimenting (using in-house software BCON and ANSYS) the effects of geometry, dimensions and operational on existing products in order to explore dimensional trade-offs for future applications. Specifically, you will be involved on the turbine blade retention features and their impact on rotor sizing.

What you need to be successful ?

• Be eligible to work in Canada.
• Be enrolled at a Canadian university for the entire duration of your internship.
• Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired, if applicable.
• Ability to use computer software, ANSYS Classic & Workbench and Catia V5 or equivalent FEA and CAD software.
• Cleared for a CGD/GT work environment, including but not limited to ECL: 1-9.E.3.a.1, 1-9.E.3.a.4, 1-9.E.3.a.5, 1-9.E.3.a.6, 1-9.E.3.a.8, 6-3.E.1, EAR (US): EAR99, 9E101, 9E991, 9E003.a.1, 9E003.a.5, 9E003.a.6, 9E003.a.8, 9E619

Qualifications We Prefer

Capable of working alone and in teams, interested in sharing knowledge and improving processes, good written and oral communication skills, and excellent organizational skills.

Although this position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a working knowledge of English to read and understand specialized instructions, plans, drawings and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and sometimes communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.

The selected candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check and any applicable clearances with respect to the handling and transfer of controlled goods.
