Internship dates: January 5 to April 23, 2027

Location: 1000 Blvd Marie-Victorin, Longueuil, J4G 1A1, Quebec, Canada.

Flexible schedule: Schedule to be discussed, on-site presence required 5 days a week.

On a few occasions, you will need to be available on-site at the same time as plant employees (6:15 AM).

Our Expectations:

The environment intern must demonstrate great autonomy and enjoy variety in tasks and projects. We need someone reliable, who takes ownership of their projects and knows how to carry them to term, and who also shows an open mind.

What will your daily routine look like?

  • As a member of the environment team, our intern will be led to work in several spheres and with different clientele: EHS advisors, committees, supervisors, plant employees.
  • Among the main tasks, they will have to provide training to plant employees regarding the segregation of hazardous and non-hazardous residual materials, water and energy management, and air emissions, and provide the necessary support to improve practices.
  • They will have to perform field inspections to verify compliance with different environmental rules (legal and corporate).
  • They will participate in the preparation and holding of different activities organized by the environment group, including internal communications.
  • They will actively participate in the activities of the water management, industrial waste, and greenhouse gas committees, notably through the implementation of certain projects and eventually the identification of new opportunities for reducing environmental impacts linked to operations.
  • They will support the team in tracking environmental incidents and calculating the costs related to the management of these events.
  • They will also have the possibility to follow certain training activities intended for environmental specialists (internal or external), notably through the CPEQ of which P&WC is a member and partner.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Be enrolled in a CEGEP or a Canadian university for the entire duration of your internship.
  • Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired, if applicable.
  • Pursue studies in environmental sciences or demonstrate experience in the field.
  • Excellent communication skills in French (spoken/written).
  • Knowing the Office suite is required (PowerPoint and Excel notably).
  • Demonstrate an ease in expressing oneself and popularizing information.

  • Organizational sense and ability to work under pressure with competing and variable priorities.
  • Teamwork, collaborative spirit are essential in a large company like P&WC, as well as attention to detail.
