About the project

Join a major player in the aerospace industry and take part in major projects at the heart of a high-tech manufacturing environment. As a Production Supervisor, you will be a key leader on the floor, responsible for mobilizing teams, ensuring operational excellence, and maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance.

This role is aimed at a field manager passionate about aerospace, recognized for their leadership, rigor, and ability to evolve in a dynamic and demanding context, within strategic industrial programs.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and motivate the team;
  • Supervise, organize, and control team activities;
  • Daily plan workforce needs and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety rules and standards;
  • Act as a change leader and coach for employees by encouraging positive attitudes;
  • Work in collaboration with union representatives;
  • Ensure a participative work climate where training, communication, and teamwork are paramount;
  • Define assignments and workload of the work team within the department and establish priorities;
  • Management of the existing work team: supervision, monitoring, administration of disciplinary measures, motivation, recognition, presence on the production floor;
  • Monitor costs, progress, and quality of work performed and determine appropriate solutions to problems encountered;
  • Proceed with goal setting and performance evaluation;
  • Allocate the necessary resources and costs for proposed tasks and activities;
  • Understand the aspects of the Production cell, equipment operation, and cycle time reduction to ensure efficient management of work teams.

Skills and qualifications

  • University degree and 5 years of experience or DEC and 8 to 10 years of experience in a similar role;
  • Prior experience as an aircraft painter would be a significant asset, given that this is the painting department.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate a group of employees;
  • Knowledge in machining (aerospace field);
  • Bilingualism (French and English);
  • The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Mastery of the Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint);
  • Must be able to communicate project progress internally or externally with our clients;
  • Prioritizes a client-centric approach;
  • Organized, autonomous, resourceful, and a good leader for their work team;
  • Ability to communicate with different levels of hierarchy within the business unit;
  • Comfortable working with tight deadlines, good stress management.
  • Strong aptitude for interpersonal relations, communication, and teamwork;
  • Stimulates performance;
  • Team spirit.

Required experience

  • Prior experience in a similar role, preferably in the manufacturing or industrial sector.
