Role:

The Production Supervisor - weekend shift is responsible for the optimal conduct of production activities and coaching the work team to ensure that products are manufactured according to standards, technical specifications, and quality requirements.

Tasks:

• Manages various teams related to operations logistics and production
• Reviews program requirements, evaluates constraints and resolves operational conflicts
• Actively works to improve work methods and production-related processes
• Advises program managers and hierarchical managers on issues of conflicting resource demands
• Assigns production personnel based on the established production schedule
• Acts as a coach, trains staff in charge, and actively participates in the development of their skills
• Acts as the main resource person for production employees
• Monitors and accelerates the availability of resources, material, and operations while respecting our quality standards
• Communicates relevant information adequately and works to develop the autonomy and efficient work of his team
• Performs operations supervision tasks within the context of his specified areas and with knowledge of the company's collective agreements
• In addition to supervising direct employees in his group, the candidate will provide advice and support to the entire production team regarding its tasks, programs, and production management
• Communicates with planning and program control personnel to manage internal operations and mitigate risks
• Acts as an interface and communicates with program managers and hierarchical managers regarding various problems related to received material, production, or other issues
• May act as a replacement for the production manager in case of absence or delegation
• Acts as an interface and communicates with hierarchical managers as needed about critical failures and recovery plans and may participate in senior management's strategic resource initiatives in specified areas
• Provides training and coaching to employees in the specified area of expertise and participates in their performance evaluation by assessing their performance and recommending areas for development
• Conducts interviews with potential new employees and recommends candidates to the production manager

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Operations/Production Management, Mechanical Engineering, Administration, or a related discipline is optional and an asset.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in management/supervision/control (sensitive to quality, costs, schedule)
• Knowledge of electronic and mechanical technologies involved in the production of space equipment is an asset.
• Excellent understanding of planning tools and ERP logic. Knowledge of planning, purchasing, finance, and ERP system modules and understanding of the interrelation of these modules.
• Advanced Excel skills
• Advanced interpersonal communication skills
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes is an asset.
• Experience in a unionized environment.

Successful candidates must obtain and maintain a security clearance at the reliability status level and pass the security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
