In this stimulating role, you will be responsible for the integrated management of the maintenance and tooling department. In this key role, you will supervise unionized and professional teams to ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of production equipment, facilities, and tools. You will also oversee building maintenance, the optimization of preventive maintenance systems, and ensure that tooling meets production needs. Finally, you will actively contribute to continuous improvement projects and the introduction of new products.
Your responsibilities:
- Supervise and mobilize a multidisciplinary team (electromechanicians, toolmakers, and maintenance planner)
- Plan and coordinate repair, improvement, and equipment installation activities
- Ensure the management and improvement of the preventive maintenance program
- Ensure the maintenance of the building, equipment, and grounds
- Supervise mandatory inspections
- Supervise and develop the activities of the tooling department
- Plan and carry out development and improvement projects
- Participate in the design and manufacture of jigs
- Manage tooling changes related to production
- Participate in the introduction of new products
- Analyze performance and recommend improvements
- Manage the budget and supplier contracts
- Train and develop teams
- Ensure inter-departmental collaboration
- Comply with policies, OHS, and collective agreement
Skills profile:
- DEC or Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in team management
