The Technical Project Manager supports the business unit's main value streams by leading the activities of a multidisciplinary team to execute tooling projects within P&WC's supplier base.
The Technical Project Manager is responsible for managing end-to-end tooling projects of significant scope and complexity.
The incumbent is accountable for the complete execution of projects, including project definition, business case development, budget management, schedule planning, milestone tracking, and the overall qualification process.
Through strategic partnerships with the supplier base, the Technical Project Manager helps achieve the company's procurement objectives for quality, delivery, and cost.
The position is based at our Longueuil location, from Monday to Friday, with flexible hours and exclusively on-site.
What will your day-to-day look like?
Projects focus on managing tooling replacement, refurbishment, or rework activities within P&WC's supplier base.
The technical support priorities listed below represent the primary responsibilities expected for this position:
- Lead supply chain technical projects from initiation to completion by managing project scope, budget, deliverables, and schedules.
- Prepare and present the project business case to secure funding.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams and provide regular project updates.
- Identify and remove cross-functional barriers that create process or quality issues, and escalate to the appropriate leaders when obstacles threaten project progress.
- Lead and perform supplier assessments (including on-site assessments, when required), with the support of a team as needed, and develop associated action plans.
- Analyze part inspection reports and perform statistical analyses to assess manufacturing process capability.
- Collaborate with suppliers to improve part quality and develop inspection plans.
- Promote the implementation of new technologies, such as 3D-printed sand cores and additive manufacturing processes for investment casting.
What do you need to be successful?
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace or industrial engineering with 5 to 10 years of relevant experience
- Experience with 3D inspection software (PolyWorks, GOM)
- Casting process expertise (Sand Casting, Investment Casting, Airfoils and Castings)
- Proficient in project management tools and PLM
This position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
