Accounting Technician

GAL Aerospace is seeking for a detail-oriented Accounting Technician to support the Senior Accountant in his duties. The ideal candidate will have both strong organizational and analytical skills, the ability to manage priorities, proficiency in Excel and accounting software, knowledge of M1 would be an asset, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reconciliation of bank accounts
• Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts.
• Validate and post employee’s expenses.
• Perform payroll entries.
• Balance intercompany accounts
• Perform various accounting entries during the month.
• Perform period-end accounting entries (depreciation, accrued expenses, etc)
• Utilize Excel and M1 for financial transactions.
• Assist with month-end and year-end reporting activities.
• Provide support to the senior accountant
• Perform all other related tasks and act as a backup to other accounting department as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

• College diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in full accounting cycle
• Knowledge of M1 (a plus) and proficiency in MS Office Suite (Advanced excel).
• Detail oriented and excellent analytical skills
• Organization skills and ability to manage priorities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in the aviation industry (preferred but not required).
