What you need to succeed
- DEC (Diploma of College Studies) in electrotechnology, industrial electronics or industrial electronics technology
- Experience with predictive analysis equipment and machine condition monitoring
- Recognized expertise in machine safety
- Excellent understanding of lockout/tagout rules (audits)
- Strong problem‑solving skills and an analytical mindset
- Proficiency in reading electrical and electrotechnical schematics
- Interpersonal skills: teamwork and a positive attitude
- Familiarity with computer systems, Windows OS and the Microsoft suite
- This position is based in a French‑speaking work environment; however, basic knowledge of English is required to understand certain specialized work instructions, drawings and technical terms that may come from international organizations.
Typical daily activities
- Work from verbal or written instructions, drawings or control management programs regarding methods and equipment to use
- Disassemble, repair, clean, inspect, weld, modify, reprogram, assemble, test, isolate, troubleshoot and adjust various electrical and electronic components to meet specifications
- Inspect and certify airworthiness of parts
- Determine repairs or modifications to be performed
- Restore surface finishes by performing required treatments such as painting and minor touch‑ups
- Complete and approve required work documentation and perform necessary computer transactions
- Inspect, make adjustments and accept or reject parts and accessories
- Maintain appropriate records of parameters to ensure efficient operations with statistical process control
- Make decisions regarding operational continuity, discuss situations with planners and recommend changes to operating parameters to meet specifications
- Communicate with technical support, quality assurance and other departments to clarify, evaluate and resolve issues on accessories or methods and provide assessments
- Follow up and enforce agreed measures
- Make necessary adjustments for the final installation of the accessory directly on the stored engine or during testing
- May be required to operate several closely located machines simultaneously
Specific responsibilities
- Participate in the development of new processes, products and rework to select methods and tools
- Wash, preserve, pack, identify and move parts while ensuring compliance with standards and specifications
- Retrieve required items from stores and columns and report usage and material needs to the supervisor
- Perform routine maintenance to ensure, among other things, fluid levels are adequate, filters are clean and overall machine condition meets the checklist
- Keep equipment and work area clean and in good condition
- Participate in training and share knowledge with teammates about equipment and tasks
