Air Canada is currently seeking dynamic individuals to fill the full-time Aircraft Technician position at our Toronto maintenance centre.
Aircraft technicians are responsible for aircraft structural maintenance and should have the following skills:
- Ability to use the correct tools, methods, techniques and equipment required to perform aircraft maintenance.
- Candidates must be able to read and understand various schematic diagrams for maintenance troubleshooting and be proficient with computers and diagnostic tools.
- Candidates must be team-oriented, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to maintain a customer-focused attitude in a demanding, high-stress environment.
- They must also be capable of working independently, using resources by phone and computer. Self-motivation and confidence are assets.

Qualifications
- Secondary school diploma (high school).
- You must have completed a recognized apprenticeship program and/or have at least 2 years of industry experience.
- Possession of a Transport Canada Avionics E licence (required).
- Possession of a valid driver's licence (required).
- Ability to successfully pass the pre-employment qualification exam, a physical examination and security screening.
- Availability to work nights, evenings and days, including weekends and statutory holidays.
- Ability to pass and obtain an airside vehicle driver permit (required).
- Possession of a restricted radio operator (aviation) permit.
- Employees in this role perform safety-sensitive work and must meet Air Canada medical standards to qualify. Candidates will be subject to a medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening, and must be free of intoxicating substances.
- Selection will be made in accordance with Letter of Agreement 13 of the current collective agreement.
- Demonstrate punctuality and reliability to support the overall success of the team in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all transport security clearances and any additional accreditations applicable, depending on the work location. Please refer to the Transport Canada website for details.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the country of the posting at the time the job is offered. Obtaining any required work permits/visas or other authorizations is the sole responsibility of the applicants for this position.
