Air Canada is currently seeking dynamic individuals for permanent full-time Aircraft Technician / Aircraft Maintenance Technician positions at its Vancouver maintenance centre.
Responsibilities and key skills
Aircraft technicians / maintenance technicians are responsible for airframe maintenance and must possess the following skills:
- ability to use appropriate tools, methods, techniques and equipment to perform aircraft maintenance;
- ability to read and understand various schematics for maintenance troubleshooting and proficiency with computer and diagnostic tools;
- strong team spirit, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to maintain a customer-focused attitude in a demanding work environment.

Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized trade apprenticeship program or a minimum of four years of relevant industry experience.
- Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license M2 or M1 (mandatory).
- Valid driver's licence (mandatory).
- Successful completion of pre-employment assessment, medical exam and security clearance.
- Availability to work evenings, nights, weekends and statutory holidays.
- Willingness to work night shift (this posting is for a permanent night position; shift changes may be possible based on seniority).
- Ability to obtain an airside vehicle operating permit (mandatory).
- Restricted Radio Operator Certificate (aviation).
- Ability to pass Transport Canada security screening and obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
- Employees in this safety-critical role must meet Air Canada medical requirements, including medical assessment and drug and alcohol screening; candidates must not be under the influence of intoxicating substances.
- Punctuality and reliability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all required transportation security clearances and other applicable accreditations for the work location.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the country at the time an offer is made; obtaining work permits/visas is the responsibility of the candidate.

- Qualification on aircraft types operated by Air Canada.
- Current security clearance.
