- Aircraft Maintenance Technician: up to $46.59/hour

Shift Premium: Night - $2.50 for each hour worked between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.

Air Canada is currently looking for dynamic individuals to fill permanent full-time aircraft technician or aircraft maintenance technician positions at its St. John's maintenance center.

Aircraft technicians / aircraft maintenance technicians are responsible for airframe maintenance and must possess the following skills:

• ability to use appropriate tools, methods, techniques, and equipment to perform aircraft maintenance;
• ability to read and understand various schematics for maintenance troubleshooting and proficiency with computer and diagnostic tools;
• good team spirit, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to maintain a customer-focused attitude in a very demanding work environment.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or at least four years of relevant industry experience
• Transport Canada M2 or M1 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license (mandatory)
• Valid driver's license (mandatory)
• Successful completion of pre-employment screening, physical examination, and security check
• Availability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Willingness to assume the night shift (this is the permanent position offered with this posting; possibility of changing shifts based on seniority)
• Ability to obtain an airside vehicle operator's permit (mandatory)
• Restricted Operator Certificate - Aeronautical
• Demonstrate punctuality and reliability to support the team's overall success in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain all applicable transport security clearances and other additional accreditations. Please consult Transport Canada's website for more details.
• Employees occupying this safety-critical position must meet Air Canada's medical requirements to be eligible. Candidates will be subject to a medical evaluation, including drug and alcohol screening, and must not be under the influence of intoxicants.
• Candidates must be eligible to work in the country concerned at the time a job offer is presented and are responsible for obtaining work permits, visas, or other necessary authorizations. Proof of eligibility must be provided before the start date.
