Air Canada is currently looking for dynamic individuals to fill permanent full-time aircraft technician or aircraft maintenance technician positions at its Calgary maintenance centre.
Aircraft technicians / aircraft maintenance technicians are responsible for airframe maintenance and must possess the following skills:
- Ability to use appropriate tools, methods, techniques, and equipment to maintain aircraft;
- Ability to read and understand various schematics for maintenance troubleshooting and proficiency in computer and diagnostic tools;
- Good teamwork, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to maintain a customer-focused attitude in a highly demanding work environment.

Qualifications
- Successful completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or at least four years of relevant industry experience
- Transport Canada M2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence (mandatory)
- Valid driver's licence (mandatory)
- Successful pre-employment screening, physical examination, and security check
- Availability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Willingness to assume the night shift (this is the permanent shift offered with this posting; possibility of shift change based on seniority)
- Ability to obtain a side-track vehicle operating permit (mandatory)
- Restricted Radio Operator Certificate (Aviation)
- Ability to pass the Transport Canada security check and obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) (see Transport Canada website for more details)
- Employees occupying this safety-critical position must meet Air Canada's medical requirements to be eligible. Candidates will be subject to a medical evaluation, including drug and alcohol screening, and must not be under the influence of intoxicating substances.
- Demonstrate punctuality and reliability to support the overall success of the team in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all applicable transport security clearances and other additional accreditations, depending on the workplace. Please refer to the Transport Canada website for more details.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the country concerned at the time the job offer is made. The search for any necessary work permits/visas or other authorizations is the sole responsibility of candidates for this position.
