- Junior mechanic: $32.83/hour
- Aircraft maintenance technician: up to $46.59/hour

Shift premium: Night - $2.50 for each hour worked between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.

Air Canada is currently looking for dynamic individuals to fill permanent full-time aircraft technician or aircraft maintenance technician positions at its Vancouver maintenance center.

Aircraft technicians / aircraft maintenance technicians are responsible for airframe maintenance and must possess the following skills:

• ability to use appropriate tools, methods, techniques and equipment to perform aircraft maintenance;
• ability to read and understand various schematics for maintenance troubleshooting and mastery of computer and diagnostic tools;
• good team spirit, excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to maintain a customer-focused attitude in a highly demanding work environment.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or at least four years of relevant industry experience
• Transport Canada M2 or M1 Aircraft Maintenance Technician Licence (mandatory)
• Valid driver's licence (mandatory)
• Successful completion of pre-employment screening, physical examination and security clearance
• Availability to work evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
• Willingness to assume the night shift (this is the permanent position offered with this posting; possibility of changing shifts based on seniority)
• Ability to obtain an Airside Vehicle Operator's Permit (mandatory)
• Restricted Operator Certificate (Aviation)
• Demonstrate punctuality and reliability to support the overall success of the team in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain all applicable transport security clearances and other additional accreditations. Please consult the Transport Canada website for more details.
• Employees in this safety-sensitive position must meet Air Canada's medical requirements to be eligible. Candidates will be subject to a medical evaluation, including drug and alcohol screening, and must not be under the influence of intoxicating substances.
• Candidates must be eligible to work in the country concerned at the time a job offer is presented and are responsible for obtaining work permits, visas or other necessary authorizations. Proof of eligibility must be provided before the start date.
