Air Canada is currently looking for dynamic individuals to fill permanent full-time positions as structural and sheet metal technicians at its Toronto maintenance center.
Job Description :
- You will be responsible for structural repairs and modifications to aircraft and the execution of work related to service bulletins. This work will be carried out using technical specifications, manuals or drawings.
- Perform and certify sheet metal and composite repairs on aircraft components
- Perform and certify sheet metal and composite repairs on company and/or contractor aircraft;
- Plan, coordinate and execute the work;
- Perform required inspections, evaluations and MRs;
- Resolve material, tooling and engineering issues affecting the plan;
- Estimate and define planned repairs;
- Provide technical guidance and coaching to TAs and other AMEs;
- Coordinate and supervise maintenance staff allocation to maximize production flow with TLs, planners, other AMEs and staff as needed.
- Sign maintenance releases (MR) for unauthorized personnel and sign for personnel not directly assigned to the working group on an ad hoc basis.
- Perform General Visual Inspections (GVI), Detailed Visual Inspections (DVI), Compliance Inspections, Self-Inspections and Required Inspection Items (RII);
- Sign defects according to defined standards;
- Provide supervision and defect management;
- Complete and verify all technical records and data entries for any work performed;
- Ensure AW and safety policies, processes and standards are met;
- Coach, train and guide maintenance personnel;
- Ensure adequate work handover information is provided to Maintenance Operations Control (MOC) and next shift personnel;
- Ensure the workplace is safe and tidy.
- Know Transport Canada and company manuals and documents;
- Ability to read the structural repair manual.
- Ability to obtain a airside vehicle driver's permit;
- Other related duties as required.

Qualifications
- You must be a graduate of a Transport Canada approved school in the structure program and/or have work experience on aircraft in the field of sheet metal and/or composite materials.
- Hold a Transport Canada (MOT)
