Air Canada is currently looking for dynamic individuals to fill permanent full-time structure and sheet metal technician positions at its Montreal maintenance center.

Job Description:

• You will be responsible for aircraft structural repairs and modifications and the execution of service bulletin work. This work will be performed using technical specifications, manuals, or drawings.
• Perform and certify sheet metal and composite repairs on aircraft components
• Perform and certify sheet metal and composite repairs on company and/or contractor aircraft;
• Plan, coordinate and execute the work;
• Perform required inspections, evaluations and MR;
• Resolve material, tooling and engineering issues affecting the plan;
• Estimate and define scheduled repairs;
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to ATs and other AMEs;
• Coordinate and supervise the assignment of maintenance personnel to maximize production flow with TLs, planners, other AMEs and personnel, as needed.
• Sign maintenance authorizations (MA) for unauthorized personnel and sign for personnel not directly assigned to the work group on an ad hoc basis.
• Perform general visual inspections (GVI), detailed visual inspections (DVI), compliance inspections, self-inspections and required inspection items (RII);
• Sign defects according to defined standards;
• Ensure supervision and management of defects;
• Complete and verify all technical records and data entries for all work performed;
• Ensure that AW and safety policies, processes and standards are respected;
• Mentor, train and guide maintenance personnel;
• Ensure that adequate work handover information is provided to Maintenance Operations Control (MOC) personnel and the next shift team;
• Ensure that the workplace is safe and tidy.
• Know Transport Canada and company manuals and documents;
• Ability to read the structural repair manual.
• Ability to obtain a side-of-track vehicle driver's license;
• Other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• You must be a graduate of a Transport Canada approved school in the structure program and/or have aircraft work experience in sheet metal and/or composite materials.
• Possess a Transport Canada (MOT) "S" structure permit, or be working towards obtaining an "S" permit and be able to obtain it
• Possess a valid driver's license
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong planning and organization skills
• Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure and manage/prioritize multiple projects.
• Available to work days, evenings or nights, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to pass security clearance and obtain Transport Canada (MOT) security card. Please refer to the Transport Canada website for details.
