Salary: Based on experience

• Junior mechanic: $32.83/hour
• Aircraft maintenance technician: up to $46.59/hour

Air Canada is currently looking for dynamic individuals to fill permanent full-time positions as structure and sheet metal technicians at its Montreal maintenance center.

Job Description:

You will be responsible for structural repairs and modifications of aircraft and the execution of work related to service bulletins. This work will be performed using technical specifications, manuals, or drawings.

• Perform and certify sheet metal and composite repairs on aircraft components
• Perform and certify sheet metal and composite repairs on company and/or contractor aircraft;
• Plan, coordinate, and execute the work;
• Perform required inspections, evaluations, and MR;
• Resolve material, tooling, and engineering problems affecting the schedule;
• Estimate and define planned repairs;
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to ATs and other AMEs;
• Coordinate and supervise the assignment of maintenance personnel to maximize production flow with TLs, planners, other AMEs, and staff, as needed.
• Sign maintenance authorizations (MA) for unauthorized personnel and sign for personnel not directly assigned to the working group on an ad hoc basis.
• Perform General Visual Inspections (GVI), Detailed Visual Inspections (DVI), Compliance Inspections, Self-Inspections, and Required Inspection Items (RII);
• Sign off on defects according to defined standards;
• Ensure supervision and management of defects;
• Complete and verify all technical records and data entries for any work performed;
• Ensure that AW and safety policies, processes, and standards are respected;
• Coach, train, and guide maintenance personnel;
• Ensure that adequate work handover information is provided to Maintenance Operations Control (MOC) personnel and the next shift team;
• Ensure the workplace is safe and tidy.
• Know Transport Canada and company manuals and documents;
• Ability to read the structural repair manual.
• Ability to obtain an airside vehicle driver's permit;
• Other related duties, as needed.

Qualifications

• You must be a graduate of a Transport Canada approved school in the structure program and/or have work experience on aircraft in the sheet metal and/or composite materials field.
• Possess a Transport Canada (MOT) "S" structure license, or be working towards obtaining an "S" license and be able to obtain it
• Possess a valid driver's license
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong planning and organizational skills
• Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and manage/prioritize multiple projects.
• Be available to work days, evenings, or nights, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to pass a security clearance and obtain the Transport Canada (MOT) security card. Please refer to Transport Canada's website for more details.
