Air Canada is currently looking for dynamic individuals to fill permanent full-time positions as Structures and Sheet Metal Technicians at its Vancouver maintenance center.

Job Description:

• You will be responsible for structural repairs and modifications to aircraft and for performing work related to service bulletins. This work will be carried out using technical specifications, manuals, or drawings.
• Perform and certify sheet metal and composite repairs on aircraft components;
• Perform and certify sheet metal and composite repairs on company and/or contractor aircraft;
• Plan, coordinate, and execute work;
• Perform required inspections, evaluations, and MRs;
• Resolve material, tooling, and engineering problems affecting the plan;
• Estimate and define planned repairs;
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to ATs and other AMTs;
• Coordinate and supervise the assignment of maintenance personnel to maximize production flow with TLs, planners, other AMTs, and personnel, as needed.
• Sign Maintenance Authorizations (MAs) for unauthorized personnel and sign for personnel not directly assigned to the workgroup on an ad hoc basis.
• Perform General Visual Inspections (GVI), Detailed Visual Inspections (DVI), conformity inspections, self-checks, and Required Inspection Items (RII);
• Sign defects according to defined standards;
• Ensure supervision and defect management;
• Complete and verify all technical records and data entries for all work performed;
• Ensure AW and safety policies, processes, and standards are followed;
• Coach, train, and guide maintenance personnel;
• Ensure adequate work transfer information is provided to Maintenance Operations Control (MOC) personnel and the next shift team;
• Ensure the workplace is safe and tidy.
• Familiarity with Transport Canada and company manuals and documents;
• Ability to read the Structural Repair Manual.
• Ability to obtain an airfield vehicle driver's license;
• Other related duties, as required

Qualifications

• You must be a graduate of a Transport Canada-approved school in the structures program and/or have experience working on aircraft in sheet metal and/or composite materials.
• Possess a Transport Canada (MOT)
