Salary: Based on experience — Aircraft Maintenance Technician: $39.48/hour

Air Canada is currently seeking energetic individuals to fill the full‑time permanent Aircraft Technician position at our Montreal Maintenance Centre.

Responsibilities and skills

Aircraft technicians are responsible for aircraft airframe maintenance and should possess the following skills:

  • Ability to use the correct tools, methods, techniques and equipment required to perform aircraft maintenance.
  • Ability to read and understand various schematic diagrams for maintenance troubleshooting and proficiency with computers and diagnostic tools.
  • Teamwork, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to maintain a customer‑focused attitude in a demanding, high‑stress environment.
  • Ability to work independently with support by phone and computer; self‑motivation and confidence are assets.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma.
  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program and/or at least 2 years of industry experience.
  • Possession of a Transport Canada AME‑E licence (required).
  • Valid driver’s licence (required).
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre‑employment qualification test, a physical examination and security screening.
  • Availability to work nights, evenings and days, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the country at the time of the job offer; obtaining any required work permits/visas is the candidate’s responsibility.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a runway driver/operator permit (required).
  • Possession of a restricted radio operator certificate (aviation).
  • Punctuality and reliability to support overall team success in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain transportation security clearances and other applicable accreditations.
  • Employees in this role perform safety‑critical work; Air Canada medical standards must be met, including medical evaluation and drug and alcohol screening; candidates must be free of intoxicating substances.

  • Endorsements for Air Canada aircraft types.
  • Current security clearance.
