Air Canada is currently seeking dynamic individuals to fill the full-time position of Aircraft Technician at our Vancouver maintenance center.
The position is located near Vancouver International Airport. The salary will be based on experience and according to the collective agreement.
Aircraft technicians are responsible for the maintenance of aircraft airframes and must possess the following skills:
- Ability to use the correct tools, methods, techniques, and equipment required to perform aircraft maintenance
- Candidates must be able to read and understand various schematic diagrams for maintenance troubleshooting and be proficient with computers and diagnostic tools
- Candidates must be team-oriented, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to maintain a customer-focused attitude in a demanding and high-stress environment
- They must also be able to work independently, with resources available by phone and computer. Self-motivation and self-confidence are assets.

Qualifications
- High school diploma
- You must have completed a recognized apprenticeship program and/or have at least 2 years of industry experience
- Possession of a Transport Canada AME-E license (mandatory).
- Possession of a valid driver's license (mandatory)
- Be able to successfully pass the pre-employment qualification exam, a physical examination, and a security check.
- Be available to work nights, evenings, and days, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to pass and obtain an Airside Vehicle Operator's Permit (mandatory).
- Possession of a Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Certificate (Aeronautical).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all applicable transportation security clearances and other additional accreditations. Please consult the Transport Canada website for more details.
- Demonstrate punctuality and reliability to support the overall success of the team in a fast-paced environment.
- Employees in this position perform safety-sensitive work, and as such, Air Canada's medical standards must be met to qualify for this position. Candidates will be subject to a medical assessment, including a drug and alcohol test, and must be free of any intoxicating substances.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the country concerned at the time the job offer is made. The search for any necessary work permits/visas or other authorizations is the sole responsibility of the candidates for this position.
Selection will be made in accordance with Letter of Understanding 13 of the current collective agreement.
