Role:
This is a continuous training level. May require supervision from more experienced technicians or technical staff members to perform simple test bench assembly, modification, or validation tasks. May be required to perform tests on simple electronic assemblies, passive or active telecommunications equipment, and chamber monitoring on more complex equipment. Must demonstrate initiative and progress within routine tasks with well-defined limits.
Responsibility/Tasks:
- Support production during equipment breakdowns to minimize operational impact.
- Perform preventive maintenance operations.
- Assist more experienced technicians or technologists.
- Execute work in accordance with internal procedures and our health and safety rules.
- Perform other related tasks.
Tasks by assignment: Must be able to assist in performing the tests below under the supervision of engineering or more experienced technicians, depending on the assignment:
Calibration:
- Basic knowledge of the discipline and some experience in metrology.
- Perform calibration, modifications/repairs, and precision measurements on equipment.
Maintenance:
- Basic knowledge of the discipline and some experience in tool maintenance, devices with programmable logic controllers, and those containing mechanical elements.
Minimum required qualifications:
- Education: DEC or equivalent in mechanical engineering, electromechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics, or a related field depending on the assignment.
- Experience: 0 to 2 years of relevant experience.
- Language proficiency: Comfortable in spoken and written French and English. (Contact with clients outside Quebec).
Comments/Special Considerations:
Successful candidates must obtain and maintain a security clearance at the reliability status level and pass the security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
