Job overview

Compensation: The starting salary range for this position is $34.76 to $39.66 per hour, commensurate with skills, experience, and qualifications. With internal training, time, and career progression, hourly compensation may increase to a maximum of $49.61. Employees working the second shift receive an additional shift premium of $1.15 per hour. This position is also eligible for overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and continuously monitor heat treatment equipment (ovens/furnaces) in accordance with approved work instructions and applicable standards.
  • Execute required thermal cycles (e.g., stress relief, solution treatment and aging, tempering) with a high level of rigor, ensuring full compliance with routing instructions and technical specifications.
  • Record, review, and verify critical process parameters (time and temperature), ensuring complete traceability and accurate maintenance of all required process documentation and records.
  • Perform first-level verification activities (such as hardness checks where applicable) and work closely with Inspection and Quality teams to ensure product conformity.
  • Actively support audit readiness and compliance by maintaining strong process discipline, robust documentation, and adherence to controlled procedures.
  • Maintain and promote 6S standards and Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements; promptly identify, report, and escalate any safety, quality, or process non-conformances.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in heat treatment or thermal processing, metallurgy, or a related industrial environment (manufacturing or MRO), demonstrating a solid understanding of industrial processes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to perform effectively in a highly controlled process environment, with a strong commitment to documentation, traceability, and procedural compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and follow technical work instructions, consistently delivering reliable, repeatable, and high-quality results.
  • Aerospace industry experience is considered a strong asset; however, motivated and capable candidates without prior aerospace exposure will be fully supported through structured training and qualification programs.

Development

Language requirements in Quebec

Intermediate level knowledge of English is necessary for aeronautical personnel to meet regulatory requirements, understand technical procedures and instructions, and document entries regarding work performed on the aeronautical product for customers outside Quebec.
