Role:
The Instrumentation Calibration Technician is responsible for the calibration, maintenance and repair of instruments to ensure their proper functioning and compliance with current standards. They intervene quickly in the event of equipment breakdown to limit the impact on production. They also perform technical installations such as ESD protection devices and collaborate closely with engineering, production and quality teams. This role requires precise reading of technical plans and diagrams to ensure effective interventions on critical equipment.
Responsibility/Tasks:
- Support production during equipment breakdowns to minimize operational impact.
- Carry out preventive maintenance operations.
- Ensure equipment compliance with calibration schedules, manufacturer recommendations and required standards.
- Ensure instrument traceability and maintain accurate documentation of calibration, maintenance and repair activities.
- Installation of electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection devices and workstation grounding.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, production and quality teams to limit production shutdowns and ensure the reliability of critical equipment.
- Read and interpret plans, technical diagrams, manuals and specifications to diagnose malfunctions and ensure effective intervention on instrumentation systems.
- Contribute to the installation, integration and commissioning of new equipment.
- Perform other related tasks.
Tasks by assignment: Must be able to perform level 7 tasks, as well as, under supervision from engineering or a more experienced technician as needed, perform the tasks below according to assignment:
Calibration:
- Perform calibration, modifications/repairs and precision measurements on equipment.
Maintenance:
- Execute simple to complex maintenance of test facilities.
- Perform calibration of various instruments and equipment.
Minimum required qualifications:
- DEC or equivalent in mechanical engineering, electromechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics or a related field according to assignment.
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience and knowledge according to assignment.
- Comfortable in spoken and written French. Knowledge of English, an asset. (Contact with clients outside Quebec).
Comments/Special considerations:
Successful candidates must obtain and maintain a reliability status security clearance and pass the security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
