Job Description

The licensed aircraft structures technician is responsible for the repairs and maintenance of aircraft structures.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, evaluate, repair, modify and weld aircraft metal and/or composite parts according to airworthiness standards, in accordance with applicable company maintenance control manuals and Transport Canada regulations;
• Order necessary parts and follow up with the Technical Purchasing team;
• Work closely with aircraft maintenance technicians to keep all aircraft systems operational;
• Establish for the maintenance of all parts and structures handled all documentation required by the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CAR), the company Maintenance Control Manual (MCM) and Maintenance Policy Manual (MPM);
• Recommend for certification or certify by signing a maintenance release the completion of the work and the fact that the work on the aircraft structure has been carried out in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• College Diploma in aircraft maintenance or the equivalent (structural assembly);
• At least two years of experience as a structural repair technician;
• Hold a valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) "S" licence (which must remain valid at all times during employment);
• Welder certification is an asset;
• Ability to perform meticulous work with hands (dexterity);
• Ability to read blueprints;
• Strong communication skills

*A good command of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will need to communicate frequently in English, orally and in writing, with colleagues, clients or other stakeholders, both in Quebec and internationally.
