The Aerospace Composites Technician participates in the manufacturing, assembly, inspection and repair of composite parts and structures for the aerospace industry. They work in accordance with the quality, safety and traceability standards required by the sector.
Responsibilities
- Prepare molds, tooling and composite materials (carbon and glass fibers, resins, prepregs).
- Perform lay-up, manual laminating, infusion, RTM or prepreg placement operations.
- Carry out polymerization cycles in ovens or autoclaves according to established procedures.
- Perform demolding, trimming, assembly and finishing of parts.
- Carry out structural and cosmetic repairs on composite aerospace parts.
- Inspect parts (visual, dimensional and quality inspection).
- Complete production and traceability documentation (travellers, technical datasheets).
- Comply with occupational health & safety, environmental and aerospace quality procedures.
- Collaborate with quality, engineering and methods teams.
- Participate in continuous improvement and regulatory compliance initiatives.
Technical skills
- Strong knowledge of aerospace composite materials.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, technical drawings and aerospace specifications.
- Mastery of composite manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of aerospace quality standards (AS9100, ISO).
- Familiarity with Transport Canada and/or FAA requirements (asset).
Requirements
- Diploma of vocational studies (DEP), technical DEC, AEC or equivalent in composites, aeronautics or materials.
- Relevant experience in the aerospace environment (major asset).
- High attention to detail, rigor and thoroughness.
- Ability to work in a team in a structured and regulated environment.
- Good manual dexterity and strict adherence to procedures.
