Composite Technician (Aeronautics)

The Aeronautical Composite Technician participates in the manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and repair of composite parts and structures intended for the aeronautical industry. They work in accordance with the quality, safety, and traceability standards required by the sector.

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare molds, tools, and composite materials (carbon fibers, glass, resins, prepregs).
• Perform draping, manual lamination, infusion, RTM, or prepreg placement operations.
• Carry out polymerization cycles in an oven or autoclave according to established procedures.
• Perform demolding, trimming, assembly, and finishing of parts.
• Perform structural and cosmetic repairs on aeronautical composite parts.
• Inspect parts (visual, dimensional, and quality inspection).
• Complete production and traceability documentation (travellers, technical sheets).
• Comply with OHS, environmental standards, and aeronautical quality procedures.
• Collaborate with quality, engineering, and methods teams.
• Participate in continuous improvement and regulatory compliance initiatives.

Technical Skills

• Solid knowledge of aeronautical composite materials.
• Reading and interpretation of plans, technical drawings, and aeronautical specifications.
• Mastery of composite manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of aeronautical quality standards (AS9100, ISO).
• Awareness of Transport Canada and/or FAA requirements (asset).

Desired Profile

• Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP), technical DEC, AEC, or equivalent in composites, aeronautics, or materials.
• Relevant experience in an aeronautical environment (major asset).
• Great attention to detail, rigor, and meticulousness.
• Ability to work in a team in a structured and regulated environment.
• Good manual dexterity and strict adherence to procedures.
