Composites Technician (Aerospace)

The Aerospace Composites Technician participates in the manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and repair of composite material parts and structures intended for the aerospace industry. They work in accordance with the quality, safety, and traceability standards required by the sector.

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare molds, tools, and composite materials (carbon fiber, glass, resins, prepregs).

• Perform layup operations, manual lamination, infusion, RTM, or prepreg placement.

• Carry out polymerization cycles in an oven or autoclave according to established procedures.

• Perform demolding, trimming, assembly, and finishing of parts.

• Carry out structural and cosmetic repairs on aerospace composite parts.

• Inspect parts (visual, dimensional, and quality inspection).

• Complete production and traceability documentation (travelers, technical sheets).

• Comply with OHS, environmental standards, and aerospace quality procedures.

• Collaborate with quality, engineering, and methods teams.

• Participate in continuous improvement and regulatory compliance initiatives.

Technical Skills

• Solid knowledge of aerospace composite materials.

• Reading and interpretation of plans, technical drawings, and aerospace specifications.

• Mastery of composite manufacturing processes.

• Knowledge of aerospace quality standards (AS9100, ISO).

• Awareness of Transport Canada and/or FAA requirements (an asset).

Desired Profile

• Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP), technical DEC, AEC, or equivalent in composites, aerospace, or materials.

• Relevant experience in an aerospace environment (major asset).

• Great attention to detail, rigor, and meticulousness.

• Ability to work in a team within a structured and regulated environment.

• Good manual dexterity and strict adherence to procedures.
