We are excellence-driven and fully dedicated to supporting and developing our teams! SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the certification and/or inspections of entrusted aeronautical products within their area of competence
- Perform procedures contained in the maintenance control manual;
- Review orders to determine the type of test required, procedures to follow, and acceptability criteria for a part;
- Determine test equipment parameters according to metal type, thickness, equipment distance, and related variables, using standard formulas;
- Calibrate test equipment, such as: magnetic particle, X-ray, and ultrasonic contact machines, according to standard settings, following manual instructions;
- Install equipment to perform tests and conduct tests on parts following established procedures depending on the tests performed;
- Examine treated surfaces of materials during penetrant and magnetic particle tests to locate and identify cracks or other defects, using fluorescent light;
- Evaluate test results against designated standards, using knowledge of metals and experience with the test(s);
- Prepare reports describing results and conclusions;
- Within their field of competence, perform the duties of the NDT Team Leader in their absence;
- Perform all other tasks that may be assigned by the NDT Service Manager, NDT Supervisor, or NDT Team Leader.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Have acquired, at a minimum, CGSB or NAS 410 training and successfully obtained Level II certifications in four (4) NDT methods; Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Level II, Eddy Current (ET) Level II, Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) Level II, Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) Level II;
- Possess quality assurance training, an asset;
- Possess good analytical skills and attention to detail;
- Be able to use a wide range of tools and instruments;
- Be able to communicate clearly in writing and verbally;
- Have good vision and good color perception;
- Understand health and safety issues;
- Possess a valid driver's license;
- Occasional travel is to be expected.
EDUCATION:
- Possess a technical diploma from a recognized institution in aeronautics and/or non-destructive testing.
