About the Position

The successful candidate will be required to work at Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. (Lockheed Martin) in Esquimalt and on Her Majesty's Canadian Modernization Shipyards (CSM) vessels, once the necessary security clearances have been granted by the Government of Canada (CANADA). The candidate will work on-site at Lockheed Martin's facilities in Victoria, BC. The candidate will participate in various in-service support (ISS) programs, including installation, integration, planned and preventive maintenance, and field troubleshooting of systems and capabilities in a highly complex naval combat system. The candidate will perform duties within a multidisciplinary team environment, participate in the installation and maintenance of common shipboard equipment and software for HALIFAX-class frigates, and participate in all appropriate engineering activities, including but not limited to:

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and military equipment
Provide technical assistance for the installation of equipment and software
Provide multi-level technical support for cable integration and equipment configuration
Provide user support for development, training, and testing teams
Provide technical support to our customers
Coordinate work and provide support to subcontractors
Liaise with the Fleet Maintenance Facility Cape Breton and subcontractors for coordination of Lockheed Martin's scope of work
Record and track issues (equipment failure trends, etc.) that may impact operational performance and efficiency
Assist engineering staff in maintaining detailed configuration documents applicable to equipment and cable configurations, firmware establishment, equipment usage parameters, equipment status, etc.
Assist engineering team members in writing technical investigation reports and technical modification documents
Participate in the acquisition, delivery, installation, and testing of new equipment configurations
Provide technical support for lifecycle initiatives.

What you bring to the role

Hold a two-year college degree in electronic engineering
At least five years of work experience in a related field
Experience with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Good working knowledge of electronic and electrical test equipment
Good troubleshooting skills
Experience in handling technical aspects of maintenance repairs
Ability to provide technical advice and solve difficult problems
Ability to work well alone or in a team
Experience leading a multidisciplinary team on technically complex projects
Experience in project planning
Willingness to participate in work outside normal working hours, if applicable
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel from engineering or management teams, as well as personnel assigned to related tasks
Technical knowledge of integrated combat systems of the Halifax class and navigation/combat systems of the Harry DeWolf class.

Additional desired skills for the position

Experience in the military naval domain
Experience in integrating sensors, weapons, or ships
Experience with Linux programming
Experience with computer networks
Experience with fiber optics
Good knowledge of Object-Oriented Requirements Management System (DOORS MD) or Windchill.

$95,000 - $124,500
