Metrology Technician

Permanent full-time position (37.5 hours/week, Monday to Thursday)

Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor, the Metrology Technician is responsible for performing dimensional inspections, metrology activities, and related analyses to ensure the compliance of components, assemblies, and products with technical, regulatory, and contractual requirements.

The person acts as a technical reference for measurements and supports the production, engineering, and quality teams in the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.

Here are your main responsibilities:

• Perform dimensional inspections on mechanical parts, assemblies, and finished products using conventional and specialized measuring equipment.
• Program, operate, and interpret results from coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
• Perform verification, calibration, and management activities for measuring instruments.
• Analyze technical drawings, geometric tolerances (GD&T), and customer specifications.
• Produce inspection reports, dimensional analyses, and required certificates of conformity.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of inspection methods and quality control processes.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards, internal procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.

• DEC in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in metrology or dimensional inspection in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
• Experience in a regulated or high-quality-demand environment (aerospace, defense, automotive, or electronics) is a significant asset.
• Good command of mechanical blueprint reading.
• Experience with conventional measuring tools: verniers, micrometers, comparators, gauges, etc.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
• Knowledge of CMM programming software such as PC-DMIS, PolyWorks, or equivalent.

Assets:

• Use of optical measuring instruments
• Perform calibration, verification, and certification of pressure measuring instruments.
• Remote pilot certification and perform maintenance, inspection, and commissioning of drones in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Perform measurements, tests, and metrological validations on lithium batteries and associated equipment.
