As an Industrial Engineering Technician at Rheinmetall Canada, your main responsibilities will be the layout of production workspaces (individual and collective), as well as the selection of the best work techniques and processes or equipment (tools and machines). He/She actively contributes to the implementation of health and safety standards and programs and to the training of employees on some of these issues. Production processes and the improvement of the operational efficiency of this service.

Reporting directly to the production supervisor, the Industrial Engineering Technician plays an important role in optimizing production processes and improving the operational efficiency of this department.

Here are your main responsibilities:

  • Develop project cost estimates for all resources (time, material, space, labor) associated with different aspects of production or production engineering.
  • Identify and assess risks in the workplace.
  • Participate in the implementation of new technologies, new equipment or new production processes and working methods.
  • Monitor employee skills in terms of safety and process or method optimization.
  • Develop training materials and lead sessions to raise awareness and train staff on certain aspects of health, safety, efficiency and working methods.
  • Prepare plans and specifications for factory layout, facilities or production-related workspaces.
  • Analyze and evaluate processes and working methods with a view to improving efficiency and quality.
  • Search, collect, compile and analyze data and collaborate in the preparation of submissions, evaluations, programming, specifications and reports.
THE QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD POSSESS
  • Diploma in industrial engineering or a related field.
  • Previous experience in production cost estimation and workspace layout.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards.
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with different departments and hierarchical levels.
  • Skills in data analysis and use of production management software.
  • Proactivity and ability to propose innovative solutions.
