Sheet Metal Worker / Boilermaker – Aerospace

The aerospace sheet metal worker/boilermaker is responsible for the manufacturing, fitting, assembly, and repair of aircraft metal parts and structures. They work from aerospace technical drawings, in strict compliance with the quality, safety, and traceability standards of the aerospace sector.

Main Responsibilities

• Read and interpret aerospace plans, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Trace, cut, form, and fit parts made of aluminum, stainless steel, or aerospace alloys.
• Perform precision bending, rolling, forming, and fitting operations.
• Assemble parts by riveting, bolting, or other mechanical processes.
• Perform structural repairs and modifications on aerospace structures.
• Perform dimensional and visual inspections of manufactured parts.
• Complete production and traceability documentation (travelers, reports).
• Comply with aerospace quality procedures (AS9100, ISO) and OHS standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, methods, and quality teams.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.

Technical Skills

• Excellent mastery of reading aerospace drawings.
• Knowledge of aerospace metallic materials and their behaviors.
• Mastery of precision sheet metal forming processes.
• Use of hand tools and machine tools (press brake, roll former, shear).
• Knowledge of aerospace standards and Transport Canada (an asset).

Desired Profile

• Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP), technical DEC, or equivalent in boilermaking, sheet metal work, or aerospace structure.
• Relevant experience in an aerospace or high-precision industrial environment.
• High rigor, precision, and attention to detail.
• Autonomy and ability to work in a team.
• Good physical condition and manual dexterity.
