Job Description

The aeronautical sheet metal worker-boilermaker is responsible for the manufacture, adjustment, assembly and repair of metal parts and structures for aircraft. He/she works from aeronautical technical plans, in strict compliance with the quality, safety and traceability standards of the aeronautical sector.

Main responsibilities

  • Read and interpret aeronautical plans, technical drawings and specifications.

  • Mark out, cut, form and adjust parts in aluminum, stainless steel or aeronautical alloys.

  • Perform precision bending, rolling, forming and adjusting operations.

  • Assemble parts by riveting, bolting or other mechanical processes.

  • Carry out structural repairs and modifications to aeronautical structures.

  • Perform dimensional and visual inspections of manufactured parts.

  • Complete production and traceability documentation (travellers, reports).

  • Comply with aeronautical quality procedures (AS9100, ISO) and OHS standards.

  • Collaborate with engineering, methods and quality teams.

  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.

Technical skills

  • Excellent command of reading aeronautical plans.

  • Knowledge of aeronautical metallic materials and their behavior.

  • Mastery of precision sheet metal forming processes.

  • Use of hand tools and machine tools (bender, roller, shear).

  • Knowledge of aeronautical standards and Transport Canada (asset).

Requirements

Desired profile

  • Vocational Studies Diploma (DEP), technical DEC or equivalent in boilermaking, sheet metal working or aeronautical structure.

  • Relevant experience in an aeronautical or high-precision industrial environment.

  • Great rigor, precision and attention to detail.

  • Autonomy and ability to work in a team.

  • Good physical condition and manual dexterity.
