Responsibilities

• Perform assembly and rework operations on engine part components and detail assemblies.
• Set up, operate, and adjust sheet metal working machines such as laser cutters, presses, plasma spray machines, and peening machines.
• Perform deburring, weld preparation, marking, washing, all-type masking, scraping, polishing, cutting, drilling, riveting, dent removal, spot welding, and sandblasting on various parts, including the correction of manufacturing defects.
• Work from verbal instructions, manufacturing method sheets, schedules, drawings, and other written instructions, and make all necessary changes and adjustments to meet requested dimensions.
• Perform dimensional and visual checks on parts during the manufacturing process as indicated or required using various types of precision measuring instruments and verification jigs, and keep appropriate records of various parameters to establish efficient operations with statistical process control.
• Drive a forklift to move hydraulic press fixtures.
• Operate and adjust mechanical or hydraulic presses with electronic/mechanical/manual adjustment to perform forming, piercing, deburring, cutting, and trimming operations on engine parts.
• Perform forming operations and adjustments required to compensate for material springback and for developing parts.
• May be required to operate several closely spaced machines simultaneously.

Specific Responsibilities

• Participate in the development of new processes, products, and reworks for the selection of methods and tools.
• Wash, preserve, pack, identify, and move parts while ensuring standards and specifications are met. Take necessary items from stores and columns and report outgoing goods and material needs to the supervisor.
• Perform routine maintenance to ensure, among other things, that fluid levels are adequate, filters are clean, and the general condition of the machine complies with the checklist. Keep equipment and workspace clean and in good condition.
• Participate in training and sharing knowledge with teammates on various equipment and tasks.
• Perform other similar duties of lesser or equal complexity related to the above-mentioned functions.
• Report difficulties to the department supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

• Holder of a DCS (DEP) in precision sheet metal work
• Mastery of documentation and blueprint reading (manufacturing drawings);
• Excellent learning capacity;
• Analytical mind and problem-solving ability (understanding and logic);
• Interpersonal skills: teamwork and positive attitude;
• Familiarity with computer systems, the Windows operating system, and SAP;
• 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.

This position takes place in a French-speaking work environment; nevertheless, it requires a basic knowledge of English to understand certain specialized work instructions, drawings, and technical terms that may originate from international organizations.
