What your daily routine will look like
Visually inspect parts before, during and after testing, to detect imperfections and irregularities, cracks, scratches, scuffs, porosities, overheating and other surface or subsurface defects indicated by particle deposits, penetrant testing or acid effect.
Prepare, fluorescent penetrant process, rinse and dry parts prior to verification. Visually inspect under black or white light. Clean, demagnetize, and apply corrosion protection processes as required.
Prepare or participate in the preparation of chemical solutions, take samples, and empty basins as needed.
During pressure tests and flow verification, perform the required adjustments and connections, use the determined jigs, mount the parts and adjust the pressure gauge according to the determined pressure. Manufacture, when required, packings on jigs to facilitate work requirements.
Evaluate non-conformances using appropriate documents to determine their acceptability. Accept parts within the limits of quality standards. When necessary, prepare, follow up and issue non-quality notices according to the quality process in place by accurately describing the type, extent and location of discontinuities. Perform computer transactions necessary for part tracking.
Keep appropriate records of various parameters up to date in order to establish efficient operations with statistical process control.
Work from process requirements, procedures, verbal instructions, non-destructive testing standards, drawings and any other additional relevant or recognized information.
May be called upon to operate several nearby machines simultaneously.
What you need to succeed
Maintain non-destructive testing accreditations (FPI, MPI, X-Ray, anodic acid etch and anodized titanium) and/or relevant training in Non-Destructive Testing
Level 2 certification for at least one of the four techniques mentioned above would be an asset
Interpersonal skills: teamwork and positive attitude
CGSB certification would be an asset
Autonomous
Experience in an industrial environment.
This position is set in a francophone work environment, however it requires a basic knowledge of English to understand certain specialized work instructions, drawings and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations.
