What will your daily life look like?
Visually inspect parts before, during, and after testing, to detect imperfections and irregularities, cracks, scratches, scuffs, porosity, overheating, and other surface or subsurface defects indicated by particle deposits, penetrant, or acid etching.
Prepare, fluorescent penetrant process, rinse, and dry parts before inspection. Visually inspect under black or white light. Clean, demagnetize, and apply corrosion protection processes as required.
Prepare or participate in the preparation of chemical solutions, sampling, and draining tanks as needed.
During pressure tests and flow verification, make the necessary adjustments and connections, use specified jigs, assemble parts, and set the pressure gauge to the specified pressure. When required, manufacture gaskets on jigs to facilitate work requirements.
Evaluate non-conformities using appropriate documents to determine their acceptability. Accept parts within the limits of quality standards. If necessary, prepare, follow up, and issue non-quality notices according to the quality process in place, accurately describing the type, extent, and location of discontinuities. Perform the necessary computer transactions to track parts.
Maintain appropriate records of different parameters to establish efficient operations with statistical process control.
Work based on process requirements, procedures, verbal instructions, non-destructive testing standards, drawings, and all other relevant or recognized additional information.
May be required to operate several closely located machines simultaneously.
What you need to succeed
Maintain non-destructive testing accreditations (FPI, MPI, X-Ray, anodic and titanium acid etch) and/or relevant training in Non-Destructive Testing
Level 2 certification for at least one of the four techniques mentioned above would be an asset
Interpersonal skills: teamwork and positive attitude
CGSB certification would be an asset
Autonomous
Experience in an industrial environment.
This position is in a French-speaking environment; however, it requires a basic knowledge of English to understand certain specialized work instructions, drawings, and technical terms that may originate from international organizations.
