What will your daily life look like?

General responsibilities of the position

  • Control and evaluate parts and engines that do not meet standards, prescribe preliminary and final dispositions according to the situation based on factors such as appearance, performance, safety, interchangeability, reliability, and functionality. If necessary, will evaluate parts on site according to applicable directives and procedures.

  • Ensure that the non-conformity notice is accurate and that the information appearing therein truly attests to the condition of the part and the disposition according to the applicable quality manual. Based on the information received, indicate acceptable limits and grant necessary authorizations. Submit deviations exceeding similar precedents and for which no similar disposition is applicable. Use the computer systems required by their function (SAP, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Collaborate with production to correct quality problems. Participate in quality improvement clinics.

  • Participate in investigative groups on repetitive problem causes. Suggest improvements to working techniques and methods to prevent the repetition of anomalies. Communicate with planning, technical support, quality assurance, material control, and other departments to clarify and evaluate difficulties encountered regarding part quality. Provide expertise to served departments and individuals by participating in problem analysis through visualization of the operation in action.

Specific responsibilities of the position

  • Perform a visual and dimensional inspection of parts.

  • Set, adjust, and use precision measuring instruments for dimensional verifications. Visually check parts, after non-destructive testing, to determine defects indicated by particle deposits, fluorescent penetrant, or acid effect.

What do you need to succeed?

  • DEP in machining techniques or diploma in mechanical engineering or aeronautical construction (aerospace engineering).

  • Computer knowledge: MS Office and SAP, an asset.

  • Experience in metrology (two to five years).

  • Very good proficiency in blueprint reading.

  • This position is in a French-speaking work environment, however, it requires a functional knowledge of English to read and understand specialized instructions, plans, drawings, and technical terms that may come from international organizations, as well as to write and sometimes communicate in English with international clients, suppliers, or colleagues.

  • Great autonomy and resourcefulness.

  • Interpersonal skills: teamwork and positive attitude.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical mind.

  • Experience in an industrial environment.

  • Knowledge of part classification rules – an asset.
